Paul and Sheralyn Bucknell have served in ministry for over 35 years. They have led The Avalon Church since 2018 - a vibrant and growing congregation on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, and are known for their warmth, authenticity, and unwavering commitment to seeing the local church flourish as a place of transformation, belonging, and purpose.
Paul and Sheralyn count it an immense privilege to serve the community of Avalon and the wider Northern Beaches. Their leadership is marked by a deep love for God; for people; and a passion to see lives transformed by Jesus. Over the course of their ministry, Paul and Sheralyn have worked across many areas of church life, including pastoral care, discipleship, leadership development, and team building. They have led teams and served faithfully within them, gaining a well-rounded and deeply practical understanding of church ministry. In 2000, they pioneered C3 Los Angeles, a cross-cultural church plant that further deepened their heart for global missions and gave them firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities of building a church in a diverse urban environment.
